Yager Performance, XY-GTHO
« on: November 04, 2011, 05:30:12 AM »
Three laps of the greatest race track in the Southern Hemisphere (Mt Panorama at Bathurst, Australia) in the greatest car to ever race on that track - the mighty Ford Falcon XY GTHO.

I don't care if you are a GM "nut" or a Ford fan ... this is awesome - the sound is just brilliant. 9 minutes of good old Aussie grunt !!

During the race, you will see some old and very old classic racers - including a 1957 Ford Customline - see if you can pick it.

This is brilliant.
Turn your sound up for this -- you'll love it.
Crazy mixed field of so many cars ... Minis, Cortinas, EHs, even a Volvo.

Really cool,i love historic racing. There used to be a program came on one of the cable channels over here, following them at different courses with interviews with the drivers,it was a great series to watch.

I agree....the Bathurst track (Mt Panorama) is one of the world's top race tracks. Unbelieveable to drive around, its incredibly steep coming down off the mountain.

For our US brothers, the car that the filming was done from (1971 Ford XY GTHO 351) was the world's fastest production 4 door sedan in 1971.....off the showroom floor that would exceed 140mph. (not kidding).

This picture was taken by journalists on a road test of a new GTHO in 1971....nothing to write home about until you look at the tachometer sitting on the rev limiter and the speedometer off the end of the 140mph dial....and this was a showroom car, not a race prepped car.

Leigh
